In Puppet Theater Builders Summer Camp, children create all the elements of an original puppet theater production full of movement and song--featuring puppets they make themselves!
Over the course of the four day week from July 5-8, children design, and construct puppets and set pieces for an original puppet theater performance which they will present to family and friends on the final day of camp. Using the whimsical Elephant and Piggie picture book series by Mo Willems as inspiration, children experience the process of a professional set designer first hand, as they work to draft their design ideas, and construct set pieces all by themselves. They also learn basic sewing skills and design concepts from a professional costume designer as they create their own puppets for the performance.
