Through the use of various improvisational games and exercises, students and instructors work together to develop characters and create comic sketches. Next, an original script is created based on the characters and ideas the students devise through improvisation. Musical numbers are added by setting new, comic lyrics to famous tunes from composers ranging from J.S Bach to Beyoncé (and just about everything in between). On the final day of class, the group performs their original musical sketch comedy revue for friends and family!

Class Overview
In Serious Funny Musical Sketch Comedy, kids create and perform their own Musical Sketch Comedy Revue! Starting with improv games and exercises, the group develops characters and comic scenarios. Next, working together with our team of professional adult singer/actors, a script is created. Spoof songs are added by setting new lyrics to famous tunes that range from Broadway hits, to R&B classics, to operatic or symphonic masterpieces--all to very comic effect! This advanced class also explores more challenging music, such as singing and singing in parts. On the final day of class, the children perform their production for friends and family!
*Each class is accompanied by a conservatory-trained musician to ensure that the quality of musical training is excellent. Class size is limited, ensuring that each child is given the opportunity to make their own unique contribution.
