DAncing Designers

In Dancing Designers, with guidance from professional artists, children design and construct costumes which they will wear for a final dance performance.

Class OVERVIEW

In Dancing Designers, kids will work with professional costume designer Clare Wasserman (on the Tony award winning design team for The Ferryman) and choreographer Katherine McClintic. They will create their own original dance and storytelling piece, inspired by great works of music, and they will design and construct their own costume pieces which they will wear for the performance.

At the end of the semester the group will share their original dance piece and original costumes pieces with family and friends in a showcase performance (either live or live-stream--depending on the COVID safety recommendations at the time).

  • Mondays from 3:00 to 5:00pm

  • at the Manhattan School for Children, 154 W 93rd St. (just off Amsterdam Ave)

Clare brings a passion and knowledge of design, and the energy it takes to focus and stimulate a room full of young elementary-schoolers to each Dancing Designers class she teaches. We can’t wait for the next class to start! If you want to inspire the creative in your kid, this class is for you!
