Musical Theater Builders

Imagine the genius of Mozart, the fun of Saturday Night Live-stlye sketches, singing, dancing,
and your child,
all mixed up in a week of theatrical discovery...

Musical Theater Builders is a unique course in which kids dream up, rehearse, and perform their own unique show from scratch. New lyrics are created and set to famous opera and symphonic hit tunes, and the result is a hilarious, fun-filled musical experience that will delight kids and adults alike!

Your kids will gain confidence, sharpen their imagination, sing, dance, and learn to collaborate with others, all while growing their vocabulary and knowledge of great works of music.

Now in our third season, Musical Theater Builders has added a variety of additional programs--each one designed to ignite your child's imagination!  From our very popular Dancing Designers program (which combines costume design with dance), to Set for Puppets (in which kids explore set design and puppetry), all of our ground breaking programs focus on expert teaching from professional artists, and the joy of self expression!

“The whole process is immensely fun for the children and seemingly for Miss Madeline as well. The final performances are an absolute joy to watch. I cannot recommend her skills as a writer, director, and mentor to kids more highly!” --Ellen Morris (Music Theater Builder parent)

"I am delighted to endorse the work of Madeline Bender. She brings great skill to everything she does, but she stands out for the humanity that underlies her communication. It is an irresistible combination.  Her imagination and skills extend into her teaching and the joy that she brings to it, passing on her knowledge lightly but deftly." --Jonathan Papp (Professor of the Royal Academy of Music, London, England, and Artistic Director of the Georg Solti Accademia)
